Image Analysis Response

Part I
The images feel filled with a very solemn power, as if the women in these images are rising up against something. The dark haired woman stands/sits up straight, facing away from the camera in a profile position. She has a serious, almost defiant, expression on her face.
The blonde haired woman in the second image is looking directly at the camera with her head tilted back and her shoulders drawn up. She appears relaxed at first, but the longer I look at the image the more I see a sort of suppressed anger with a hint of fear. At times, the photo almost looks sexual.
I think that images were either created in photoshop or are real people painted and then photographed. The eyes, hair, and ears of the second model look too realistic to have been done with the technique as the body; and the eyes and hair of the first model look too real to have been painted with the same technique as well. The images kind of remind me of an artist that I saw on Instagram a couple weeks ago, who painted the models to look like paintings and then photographed them in real life environments.
The use of red in both images imprints a sense of power, passion and even aggression. However, the use of light blue in the first image seems to balance out those feelings with a sort of calmness, which I think is where my initial sense of solemness came from.
I think that the artist intended to convey what I felt initially. They most likely used their knowledge of color theory to portray their intentions, which I feel that I understood well. Also, the sharp contours on each model created a dramatic feel to the images, which I believe was intentional.
The attempts of the artist to convey such emotion was definitely successful, at least for me.

Part II
I was correct in my original theory, in which I said that I think it could have been the models themselves painted.
I think that her intentions of imprinting a sense of tension in viewers of her art was successful. I did feel the tension in the posture and expression of the models. However, her point about the paint representing a second skin was not received. As with most incredible art pieces, the meaning and expression is very ambiguous, especially considering that fact that she has had different experiences than I have.
